Sunflower CBT Services works in partnership with organisations to improve the health and well being of employees to reduce sickness and absenteeism. We can look specifically at adopting a CBT framework to combat stress, depression and anxiety. We can provide individual assessment and treatment or provide group sessions, either in our offices or at your workplace.

Why choose CBT?

The UK Health and Safety Executive has stated that ‘Work-related stress, depression or anxiety is the leading cause of working days lost through work-related injury or ill health, with an estimated 12.5 million days a year lost in 2003/4.’

The burden of mental illness is widely underestimated. In the UK:

Of the 280 million consultations with a general practitioner each year, 30% are related to mental ill- health
3 in 10 people have sick-leave from work related to their mental health in any one year
91 million working days are lost due to mental ill-health
1 million people are on long term sick-leave due to mental illness, and of those on sick-leave for more than 1 year, less than 5% return to work the cost to the economy of mental ill-health is of the order of £77bn per annum

By working proactively with organisations to provide support to their workforce, Sunflower CBT Services offers a collaborative,  common sense yet evidence based approach to the emotional welfare of your employees  which is designed to maximise productivity.
Unlike other forms of psychotherapy, CBT is:

•Collaborative •Both the therapist and client are responsible for change
•Problem-focused •Problem areas are identified at the outset
•Tailored approach •Flexible treatment plans are designed to fit each individual’s needs
•Practical •Scientifically proven/ evidence based
•Focused on the “here-and-now” •Short-term
•CBT provides a detailed explanation of the whys and hows to feeling better

On average people respond in 8-16 sessions, though some may require fewer or additional sessions.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is the treatment of choice for the majority of mental health problems, including work related stress in Europe and North America. It is recommended by NICE  as the first line treatment for  anxiety disorders and depression.

At Sunflower CBT,  you will be offered a consultation to discuss the needs of your workforce. Following this  the clients will be offered a thorough assessment of their needs and subsequent personalised, evidence based, high quality Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to treat their psychological difficulties will be implemented. Treatment options are  individual face to face cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) , group CBT, telephone CBT and CBT in the workplace. All psychotherapists working with Sunflower CBT are BABCP  (British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies) accredited.
