Lisa du Plessis RN, HE DIP,Cert CBT, BSc(hons), PG DIP CBT, BABCP Accredited, NMC


Lisa is a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and has worked in private and NHS mental health services since 1999. Lisa has a range of experience in different services including forensic mental health, national centre for mental health and deafness, community Mental health teams, assertive outreach, crisis team, primary care and eating disorders. Lisa is also an approved health provider for PRU HEALTH, AVIVA and AXA-PPP health insurance companies.

Lisa currently works 3 days a week as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist for the NHS at Hertfordshire Eating Disorders Service and also works as a private psychotherapist at Sunflower CBT Services. Lisa began her career in 1996 when she commenced her training as a Psychiatric Nurse at Liverpool John Moores University. She worked as a nurse therapist specialising in CBT prior to formally training to become a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist after the birth of her first child in 2006. Lisa is about to complete her MSc in CBT and is undertaking research in Trichotillomania and impulse control disorders.
